September 12 – Over 300 people attended the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games participating in the observer and the internship programs assisting the Sochi 2014 winter Games.

The group included Sochi 2014 employees, volunteers, and representatives from ministries and agencies in Sochi and the Krasnodar region. Many of the employees were targeting key needs such as logistics, venue management, village management, transport, accommodation and many other points that are vital for good staging of the Games.

This marked the largest observer program ever and even included 104 volunteers who worked in London with the numerous activities that were being held there.

During Games’ time over 80,000 people visited Sochi.Park that was set up in Kensington Gardens which even included an ice show.  Over 12,000 people came to see the ice show "Sochi: little stories from a big city".

The ice show also featured  6 Olympic and 18 world skating champions including: Tatiana Navka, Irina Slutskaya, Oksana Domnina and Maksim Shabalin.

Sochi.Park was the OCOG’s extensive hospitality house where visitors could take a virtual trip to Sochi, climb via an interactive 4-D cabin to the snowy peaks of the Caucasus Mountains and have a snowball fight with the Sochi 2014 mascots.

The venue also enjoyed visits from a number of VIPS: the IOC President, Jacques Rogge; the President of the International Ice Hockey Federation, Rene Fazel; the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Kozak; ROC President, Alexander Zhukov; well-known basketball coach, Ettore Messina, as well as Sochi 2014 Ambassadors including famous jazz musician, Igor Butman and medal-winner from the Olympic Games in Vancouver, Ivan Skobrev.
