June 19 - The Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) head Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah has submitted a statement in the wake of the ticket allegations of illegal selling of Olympic tickets on the black market:
"ANOC Supports IOC action
H.E. Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah, President of the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC), fully supports the decision of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to investigate allegations that certain National Olympic Committees (NOCs) and Authorized Ticket Resellers (ATR) have broken rules relating to the sale of tickets for the Olympic Games in London.
He stated that everybody is innocent until proven guilty; therefore any newspaper or media organization publishing such allegations should submit the evidence to the IOC Ethics Commission immediately for consideration.
The ANOC President believes there is no scope for such kind of activities within the Olympic Movement and insisted he was confident that the IOC would deal with this effectively.
