May 4 - Boris Johnson can now relax after narrowly winning the mayor's race and his front row seat at the London Olympics this summer has been confirmed.

Johnson, who is a member of the Conservative Party, edged out his predecessor, Ken Livingstone, of the Labor Party.

Overall in the elections the Conservatives and Prime Minister David Cameron took a hit in the local elections over the flagging economy and austerity measures.
