Bid branding in the city

The city also was decked out with the new Madrid 2020 logo representing the Alcala Gate on all the main streets of Madrid to spread awareness about the campaign. More than 700 streetlights dressed up with more than 1,500 flags were positioned throughout the city.

The branding campaign will last through the end of the month and will be the first of four domestic campaigns to promote the bid and rally support among the citizens.

Madrid is running in the race for the 2020 Games against Baku, Doha, Istanbul, Rome and Tokyo. The IOC will make their final decision in September of 2013 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
