Doha's 2020 bid ramps up team and prepares to launch website and branding

TAMPA: The Doha 2020 bid for the Olympic Games today announced several key additions to their bid team as well as the launch date of their bid logo, website and slogan.

On February 10th during the annual of Wheels n’ Heels wellness event the branding will be launched just prior to the submission of the applicant file to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) five days later.

New to the bid team are Fahad Juma, Deputy CEO and Technical Director; Tariq Falamazi, Legal Director; and Fatma Al-Ghanim, Marketing and Communications Director.

Noora Al Mannai, bid ceo, said, "We are building a talented Bid Committee and these latest appointments further strengthen our team as we head into an important phase of the 2020 campaign.

"The unveil of our bid logo and slogan and the launch of the new website are all important building blocks in our bid to host the first ever Olympic and Parlympic Games in the Middle East. 

"Our Applicant File is also now in the very final stages of production. We are proud of its content and the hosting plans and legacy vision it contains, and look forward to making its contents public next month after it is submitted to the IOC."

Doha is in the race for the 2020 summer Games competing against Baku, Istanbul, Madrid, Rome, and Tokyo. The final decision will be voted at the IOC session in Buenos Aires, Argentina on September 7, 2013.
