TAMPA/ROMA: Today the Roma Capitale and the Bid Committee for the Rome 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games have announced that they will present the results of two key research projects for the Olympic Games campaign.

On Thursday, the Rome 2020 Economic Impact Study, produced by the “Fortis Commission” and the public opinion poll by Ispo of Renato Mannheimer will be made public at a press conference held in the Sala della Protomoteca at Campidoglio, the Rome municipal building.

Piero Gnudi, was in Trento today on his first official mission as Minister of Sports for the presentation of the Italian youth team for the Innsbruck Youth Winter Olympic Games.

Gnudi remarked about the candidature of Rome 2020, “Hosting the Olympic Games is one of the dreams of every Minister of Sports. From that point and on it becomes a topic beyond the responsibilities of the Minister and turns into a project that the Government first and then the Parliament have to approve.

"I certainly think that it would be a dream to see the Roma 2020 project come true”.

Rome is in the race for the 2020 summer Games against Baku, Doha, Istanbul, Madrid, and Tokyo. The final decision will be taken in 2013 at the IOC session in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
