Princess Haya and Sheikh Mohammed welcome a baby boy

TAMPA: IOC member and head of the International Equestrian Federation (FEI) Princess Haya and her husband the Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed, announced today via Twitter that they welcomed the birth of their son.

The royal couple named him Zayed and the news spread fast around the world as the ruler has a Twitter following of over 600,000 people. This might be one of the first official announcements of a royal baby via social media channels but once again it is proof that things are changing in the United Arab Emirates.

The message was simple “Princess Haya and I were blessed with a baby boy ... We named him "Zayed".
