TAMPA/NEW YORK: Dow Jones Indexes announced today that London 2012 sponsor General Mills has been added to the Dow Jones Summer-Winter Indexes.
At the end of August the Minneapolis, Minnesota based General Mills company announced that the Nature Valley brand would be the official cereal snack bar supplier for the London 2012 Games.
The index measures the performances of publicly traded securities of companies that are official partners, sponsors or suppliers of the next Olympic Games.
No components have been taken off the index with this quarterly review that takes place March, June, September and December.
At the closing of trading September 16th, the inclusion of General Mills will take the number of components from 37 to 38.
As of yesterday the free-float market capitalization of the Dow Jones Summer/Winter Games Index updated list increased from US$1382.8 billion to US$1405.5 billion.
