TAMPA: The Swiss Olympic Association is considering throwing their weight behind a two city bid for the 2022 winter Olympics and is looking at Davos-St. Moritz.

NOC chief Joerg Schild told the Associated Press that they preferred Alpine villages Davos-St. Moritz over the larger city Geneva as they think this would be a better choice.

In order for Switzerland to formally put together an Olympic bid the concept must be approved by the Swiss sports federations in a meeting next April.

St. Moritz was home to the second edition of the winter Olympics in 1928 after Chamonix and then again in 1948. Davos is the headquarters to the World Economic Forum which annually gathers global and political business leaders to the prestigious forum and also has the country’s biggest ski resorts. It is also known as the highest city in Europe.

The 2022 winter Olympics bid race will be decided in 2015 seven years prior to the event.
