TAMPA/PYEONGCHANG, Jun 15: With only 21 days left in the 2018 winter Games campaign Korean Lotte department store is launching its “Gather Our Wish Campaign for PyeongChang 2018” to collect over 2m messages for PyeongChang.

The store is ambitiously working through its 29 branches throughout Korea to gather 2,018,000 support messages for the Games to demonstrate public backing.

Bid ceo, Yang Ho Cho, said: “We appreciate the ongoing support of our corporate sponsors – their committed backing has enabled us to communicate our message of New Horizons around the world. Our partner organisations understand and believe in PyeongChang’s vision to spread winter sports to new regions and encourage a new generation of winter sports fans and athletes in Asia.

“As we head towards Durban now, it is also wonderful to see so many PyeongChang 2018 fans across Korea show their passionate support for the bid.”

The initiative was inaugurated with a special party featuring dance competitions, face painting and cheerleader shows.

Lotte’s campaign will last through the 3rd of July three days prior to the vote in Durban, South Africa at the IOC session. PyeongChang, Munich and Annecy are vying to host the 2018 winter Games.
