DOHA/CHUNCHEON: Governor Moon-soon Choi was sworn into office as the new leader of the Gangwon Province. Gangwon is the regional governmental province for the PyeongChang 2018 bid.

The 55 year old former television executive from Munhwa Television Corporation was thrilled to take the new post and to express his complete support for the PyeongChang 2018 bid.

Choi said, "Hosting the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in PyeongChang has long been a desire of all the Gangwon citizens as well as one of the top national priorities.

“I will try my utmost to make this dream come true in close cooperation with the Government."

Governor Choi will be attending the upcoming IOC technical meeting to be held May 18 and 19 in Lausanne to support the bid and to greet the members in person.

PyeongChang is competing against Annecy and Munich to host the winter Games of 2018. The final decision will be decided in Durban at the IOC session on July 6th.
