NBA Spurs star Tony Parker backs Annecy 2018 in support of French sports

TAMPA/ANNECY, Apr 20: The latest athlete ambassador to lend his support to the Annecy 2018 bid for the winter Games is San Antonio Spurs basketballer Tony Parker.
The triple NBA champion joins prestigious sports figures such as Jean-Baptiste Grange, Arsène Wenger, Florent Amodio, Zinédine Zidane, Christophe Lemaitre and Marie-José Perec that have declared their backing for the French bid.
Parker was born in Belgium but was raised in France and calls Paris home, hence his allegiance to the Annecy bid.
"Like nearly 600 athletes who are supporting the bid, I say YES to Annecy 2018", has he declared at the beginning of the NBA playoffs he's playing with the San Antonio Spurs.
He also has expressed his wish that should the NBA have a lockout he would like to return to hid native France to play ball.
Parker plays point guard for the Texas team and is well known in America for his marriage to Eva Longoria, star on ABC's longtime hit "Desperate Housewives".
Annecy is running against PyeongChang and Munich to host the winter Games of 2018. IOC will make a decision on the vote on July 6th in Durban, South Africa.
Next stop on the bid campaign is the three cities will have the opportunity to display their campaigns to IOC members May 18-19 in Lausanne, Switzerland at a meeting to be held at the Olympic Museum.
