LAURA WALDEN / Sports Features Communications

LONDON, Apr 4: SportsFeatures.com is taking an indepth look at all three 2018 bid cities from an overall logistics of the Olympic area point of view.

The Annecy 2018 bid plan underwent a resizing procedure last June after the IOC made recommendations when the three applicant cities were acknowledged as candidate cities.

The two main clusters are focused with one located in the Annecy city area, another 100 km (approximately and hour and a half) away in Chamonix, the birthplace of the winter Games, and there is a third satellite sliding venue located at La Plagne that is 155 km away (approximately two and a quarter hours).

Annecy will host figure skating, speed skating, curling, acrobatic skiing, snowboard, cross-country skiing, ski jump, nordic combined and biathlon events.

Chamonix Mont-Blanc will host alpine skiing and ice hockey competitions and La Plagne will host the bobsleigh, skeleton and luge events.
