TAMPA, Sept 21: Japan is getting Olympic fever again and contemplating putting forth a 2020 summer Games bid featuring an August 6th opening to remember the city’s atomic bombing in the name of peace.

The Associated Press reports that the original idea was to hold the opening on August 7th when an annual peace memorial ceremony is held to mark the event.

The developing plan to hold ‘peace Olympic Games’ is in the draft stages and will be decided by the end of the year if the Japan Olympic Committee will put forth a bid to the IOC.

Tokyo 2016 was the last bid that Japan put forward in the race against Rio de Janeiro, Madrid and Chicago. Rio won the vote held last October at the IOC session in Copenhagen, Denmark.
