TAMPA, May 18: Superstar gold medal skater Yu-na Kim is thrilled to be part of the PyeongChang 2018 Athletes Committee and will be putting her drive and determination into helping them land the gold to host the Games.

Kim said: “I am delighted to be part of the PyeongChang 2018 Athletes Committee. Athletes have been involved in developing PyeongChang’s 2018 Games Plan to ensure convenience, comfort and a great setting for outstanding athletic performances.

“As an Ambassador for the bid and member of this Committee, I look forward to communicating my enthusiasm for the 2018 Games in Korea with fellow athletes around the world and sharing with them our vision for outstanding Winter Games.”

Kim won the women's figure skating gold in Vancouver several months back and has been busy ever since with sponsorship deals and networking with presidents after she became the first South Korean to take figure-skating gold.

Earlier this month she was hailed by Time as one of the 100 World's Most Influential People at the Time Warner Center in New York City. Kim accepted the award with luminaries such as Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, who topped the 'leaders' list and singer Lady Gaga who was the most influential artist.

Kim apparently listens to Lady Gaga which may have inspired her to her next exploit.

She recently branched out and tried her talents singing herself and has even recorded a World Cup song with Korean singer Seung-gi Lee that will be used by KB Financial Group. The two recorded the 40 second song separately and it will be used as a special commercial during the Cup.

Though she remains reticent about whether she wants to defend her Olympic title at Sochi 2014 she makes no secret about her commitment to help bring the 2018 Games to her native Korea.
