NEW YORK, May 5: Superstar figure skater Yu-na Kim was celebrated by Time Magazine as one of the 100 World's Most Influential People yesterday at the Time Warner Center in New York City.
The Korean athlete crossed the red carpet with other luminaries such as Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, who topped the 'leaders' list and singer Lady Gaga, cited as the most influential artist.
Kim inspired many people around the world for her composure under pressure on the Vancouver ice to take the gold in the figure skating competition. A fervent supporter of the PyeongChang 2018 winter Olympics bid she looks to promote her sport as well as her country abroad.
Quintessentially classic and elegant dressed in a black evening dress and silver heels in place of her ice skates she noted, "I'm very grateful to be here at my young age. It's my first time in New York, and I'm delighted that I came here for a good reason. It's such an honor to be invited to a gathering of the world’s greatest people, and it will make a wonderful memory."
