SINGAPORE, Mar 12: SPORTELAsia celebrated the latest edition of the ever growing sports content market with a good 45 countries in attendance at the meetings in Singapore March 8-10. Over 290 companies were present to network and market their sports content products.

The SPORTEL markets are unique in that they widely cover all aspects of international sports television and sports content, including broadcasters, broadband and mobile companies, professional leagues, program distributors, sports marketing agents, event organizers, satellite services, producers, hardware/software and facilities providers, sponsorship and investment groups, sports federations and new media.

Ceo David Tomatis noted, “We are very pleased with the turnout and the reports from our clients that they had a busy and productive market."

He continued, “We wish to thank our partners at the Singapore Sports Council and the Singapore Tourism Board for their invaluable assistance in making this inaugural SPORTELAsia in Singapore a success. Of course, we also thank our sponsors and advertisers, including CSI Sports - Fight Sports, DFL Sports Enterprises Gmbh, Fighting Spirit Distribution, Globo TV Sports, Hbo, Input Media, National Basketball Association And Ultimate Fighting Championship for their continuing support of our efforts."

This edition of the market also comprised presentations by the Singapore Youth Olympic Games Organising Committee and the Singapore Sports Council on the sports media industry in Singapore.

Also a workshop was held on Sports Content Licensing conducted by the renowned Singapore law firm of Rajah & Tann LLP, and the 1st Asian/Pacific Sport TV Audience Award was presented by Médiamétrie/Eurodata TV.

SPORTEL’s next event is SPORTELMonaco 2010, which will take place October 11-14, 2010 at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco.
