Michelle Obama has one main objective: IOC members

TAMPA, Sept. 29: The White House has confirmed that First Lady Michelle Obama arrives in the Danish capital of Copenhagen early Wednesday to start her personal lobby campaign for the Chicago 2016 bid.

First thing in the afternoon she will be whisked off to the US Embassy and then back to the meeting zone to meet and greet as many IOC members as possible in person.

Following that, in the evening Chicago Mayor Daley will be holding a welcome reception that she will attend. Then her schedule for Thursday morning is more of the same  -  greeting and looking to persuade the IOC members as they arrive in for the IOC session and congress.

That afternoon she will attend a Heads of State Luncheon hosted by Queen Margrethe II of Denmark at Amalienborg Palace. Then it is back to work on the campaign front meeting more of the IOC members until she is off to the official opening at the Copenhagen Opera House 7pm local time. Afterwards she will have a private meeting with IOC president Dr Jacques Rogge.

Friday morning she will be presenting with the Chicago Team at their early appointment in front of the IOC Session then she will be jetting back to the United States.

Chicago is up against Madrid, Rio de Janeiro, and Tokyo for the 2016 Olympic Games.
