TAMPA: The International Olympic Committee announced today that three cities have met the deadline to submit candidature files for the 2014 summer Youth Olympic Games.

Poznan, Poland threw its hat into the ring for a second time to compete against Guadalajara, Mexico, and Nanjing, China.

The IOC had originally sent out a questionnaire and the candidature files have been prepared along the guidelines of that information. Next step in the bidding process will be for an IOC Evaluation Commission to prepare a report that will be submitted to the IOC executive board and the IOC membership for consideration. Voting on this 2nd edition of the YOG will take place in February 2010 at the 122 IOC Session in Vancouver prior to the winter Games.

Each of the cities will be releasing their own bid files to the public. The inaugural edition of the summer YOG will take place in Singapore in 2010 and be followed by the 1st winter edition to be held in Innsbruck in 2012.
