YOG partner for Singapore

SINGAPORE: Organisers of the Youth Olympics have signed up Deloitte Singapore as the first official partner to provide consultancy and financial services for the Games in 2010.
Goh Kee Nguan, chief executive officer of the organising committee (SYOGOC) welcomed the agreement since it underlined the event's ambition in empowering the youth of the world through an integrated sports, culture and education programme.
He added: "With such strong partners we are confident that we will be able to deliver a successful Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games."
Singapore will be hosting the inaugural Youth Olympic Games (YOG) from August 14 to 26 next year. Organisers expect to welcome around 3,600 athletes and 800 officials from the 205 national Olympic committees along with 800 media representatives, 20,000 local and international volunteers, and more than 500,000 spectators.
Young athletes aged between 14 and 18 will compete in 26 sports and participate in a range of cultural and educational activities.
