Rogge receives Honorary Doctorate

ISTANBUL, TURKEY: IOC president Dr. Jacques Rogge has received an Honorary Doctorate from Istanbul University at the onset of the European Olympic Committees’ 37th general assembly in the Turkish city which links Europe with Asia.

At a ceremony Friday in the presence of 20 attending IOC members Rogge gave a brief speech thanking the 500-year-old university for the honor.

Other celebrations happening the general assembly included the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Turkish Olympic Committee (TMOK).
